A correct patient´s collecting information and its clinical signs at every level is essential, from the anamnesis, physical exploration, auscultation, chest films or the EKG.

Generally, the EKG results are sent to a specialist that has more experience with Doppler-EKG diagnostic test. Sometimes, we can have some doubts in standard test results, EKG or chest X-ray.

In this cases where is difficult to detect the disorder and the cause; and it is problematic to connect the symptoms. In these cases cardiology specialist is essential.

Occasionally, some veterinary specialties don’t like us, and we don’t dedicate enough time to them. Cardiology and respiratory illness can be one of the cases where is difficult to detect the disorder because there isn´t many specialists. When a veterinary doesn’t like cardiopathies, sometimes can be challenging to identify the problem and get a diagnosis. The easy option is to ask for a second opinion.

On the contrary, if we have good knowledge or we want to diagnose cardiopathies, is recommended value every data systematically and organized, starting for the patient (weight, age, etc.). Like this, you can decide if it´s necessary or indispensable another test most specific or if it´s possible to start the treatment to verify or set the diagnosis.
